My '27 Ford Fiberglass T Roadster I've named "Nostalgia Trip"

I'd planned on competing at Bonneville in 2011. I've rethought the whole process, deciding not to run at Bonneville at all. The costs associated with safety and the expenses for getting the car there & back, plus staying for a week are a bit much for a Social Security income. Because of roll-bar specifications, you wind up with what amounts to a dedicated racer. I don't want that, I want to be able to drive on the street too! There's also some health issues that make handling heavy parts around the shop difficult.

So, I've decided to build a street rod rather than just let the project sit & rust. It's a good start and I've already corralled some hard to find/get parts. My "Street T" will use one of two engines:

  1. A more traditional Model A street engine with a Delta "3/4" cam arrangement. It's firing one standard 14mm 3/4" long reach, platinum plug per cylinder. I'd planned on using a reworked & modified stock, but blueprinted "B" head on the street, but will probably switch to an aluminum Winfield 7:1 unit.
  2. The "Reverse-Port" cam in the "B" engine was to use a two-plug per cylinder Lion head, with a modified Ford 8 cylinder distributor on the racing Bonneville "B" engine, but the head is not going to be available until 2012 at best, so I'm working on fill-in stuff until I can get a head or come up with another solution.

I'm going to keep my Model A/B interests up with:

My health issues have improved, & can handle all this for now, but if it deteriorates, sadly that may have to end too.
